South African Genealogy was founded in 2004 with a view to providing resources to family historians researching their ancestors in South Africa. Passenger lists, books, CDs and other interesting data has been accumulated along the way. It has grown tremendously over the years and, much like an old house that’s been added to in a haphazard manner, it became difficult to manage and to navigate. So it is with great excitement that this new, more streamlined version has been developed, in particular, the easy to use Search the Database facility which replaces the DataArchive on the old site. I hope you find it useful.
South African Genealogy will be adding new records on a regular basis. Read about the current databases here.
Please feel free to contact me should you wish to contribute any material that would be of use to others researching South African ancestors.
